Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Senior Software Engineer to join a gaming platform team. Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering a next-generation online experience.

This is a fully remote role within South Africa with flexible hours. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA, drive architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure code quality through tests and reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development experience with scalable systems.
• Proficient in Java, Python, C#, or Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and databases (SQL/NoSQL).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs for the gaming platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability in a cloud-native environment.
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code, participating in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to ensure operational stability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior engineers.
