Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Performance Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will lead simulations, testing, and validation across vehicle platforms, correlating data from simulations with real-world tests to optimize dynamics and powertrain efficiency.

You will manage experimental plans, work with distributed teams, and deliver detailed reports with actionable recommendations. Master’s or PhD in a related field and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in automotive performance engineering with emphasis on simulation/testing.
• Proficiency with vehicle dynamics and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute complex vehicle performance simulations using industry-standard software.
• Design and manage experimental plans for track and dyno testing.
• Analyze large datasets to assess dynamics, powertrain performance and NVH.
• Correlate simulations with tests to validate models and improve accuracy.
• Identify performance gaps and suggest design/calibration improvements.
• Collaborate with design and test teams to integrate performance requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings.
