Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Powertrain Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and validation of advanced powertrain systems from Polokwane, South Africa. The role spans internal combustion engines, electric powertrains, and hybrids, requiring a creative and analytical thinker with a deep thermodynamics and control systems background.
The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in automotive powertrain design, strong CAD/simulation proficiency, data acquisition
Formación
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in automotive powertrain design.
- Strong understanding of engine principles, transmissions, and electric/hybrid powertrains.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, GT-POWER).
- Experience with data acquisition systems and powertrain testing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication.
Responsabilidades
- Design and develop powertrain components and systems to meet performance and durability targets.
- Run simulations and modeling to predict performance and identify issues.
- Plan and execute rigorous testing and validation for powertrain parts and systems.
- Analyze test data and implement design changes.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing and testing teams for seamless integration.
- Stay updated on electrification, alternative fuels, and advanced combustion strategies.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and emissions regulations.
