Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Automotive Mechanical Engineer for a fully remote R&D role. You will design, optimize, and validate mechanical components and systems across powertrain, chassis, and body structures, leveraging CATIA V5 or Siemens NX and CAE tools.

You will collaborate with a distributed team, perform simulations and testing, and contribute to robust design documentation and reviews for project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years hands-on automotive mechanical design experience.
• Expertise with CATIA V5 or Siemens NX and CAE tools for stress/thermal/dynamic analysis.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, materials, manufacturing processes, and automotive standards.
• Experience with vehicle component testing, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems for automotive applications (powertrain, chassis, body structures).
• Use CAD/CAE tools for modeling and analysis of parts and assemblies.
• Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs.
• Develop and execute validation plans including physical testing and simulations.
• Prepare technical documentation and design reviews for milestones.
• Contribute to process improvements in automotive design methodologies.
