Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join its remote‑first team, supporting projects across South Africa, including Bloemfontein. You will develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation using BIM and CAD to ensure compliant, buildable designs.

You will work independently with architects and project managers, coordinate with structural, mechanical and electrical systems, and prepare permit and tender documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years as an Architectural Technologist with focus on technical detailing and construction documentation
• Proficient in BIM software (Revit) and AutoCAD
• Knowledge of SA building regulations (NBR, SANS)

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed architectural drawings, construction details, and specifications using BIM
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Prepare documentation for building permits and tender processes

About the Role

This role focuses on developing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation essential for construction. You will work independently and collaboratively with architects and project managers, leveraging advanced BIM and CAD skills to produce accurate and compliant construction documentation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop highly detailed architectural technical drawings , construction details, and specifications using BIM software.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure the accurate integration of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into architectural designs.
• Prepare documentation for building permit applications and tender processes.
• Conduct technical reviews of designs to ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage and organize project documentation within a digital environment, ensuring accessibility for the project team.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to site queries and resolving technical issues.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist, with a strong focus on technical detailing and construction documentation .
• Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Revit) and AutoCAD.
• Thorough understanding of South African building regulations, National Building Regulations (NBR), and SANS standards.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote work setting.
