About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a specialization in Financial Reporting to join their fully remote finance team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Perform complex reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Manage the financial close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and documentation is thorough.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial information.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing explanations, and liaising with auditors.
• Assist in the development and refinement of accounting policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives within the finance department, focusing on automation and efficiency.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the finance team as needed, fostering a collaborative remote work environment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, with a significant focus on financial reporting.
• Deep understanding of IFRS and South African statutory reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with advanced Excel functions and experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, adapted for remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with strong self-discipline and time management skills.
