Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Financial Accountant to join the finance team in a fully remote role. You will ensure accurate IFRS reporting, manage the general ledger, and oversee payables and receivables from a distributed team across locations.

The ideal candidate has a 4+ year track record in financial accounting, strong SA tax knowledge, and proficiency with Sage or Xero. Excellent communication and autonomy are essential for success in this remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; professional qualification preferred (CA(SA)/CIMA).
• 4+ years of experience in financial accounting.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage and Xero; strong Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and SA tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes in line with company policies.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with tax computations and filings under South African tax laws.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
