Placements24 is assisting a rapidly expanding international fintech company in finding a Senior Financial Accountant for a fully remote position in South Africa. You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, prepare IFRS-compliant statements, and partner with leadership to deliver strategic insights.

In this remote role, you’ll implement strong internal controls, manage the general ledger, and collaborate with auditors.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA) required.
• 5–7 years of progressive financial accounting experience, preferably in technology or financial services.
• Expert IFRS knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel and accounting software familiarity (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise).

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute complex monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings in compliance with IFRS.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Develop and implement robust internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage general ledger functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders during financial audits and reviews.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably within the technology or financial services sector.
• Expertise in IFRS and strong understanding of financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise) and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote team collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a remote setting.
