Placements24 is seeking a Remote Renewable Energy Systems Installer to coordinate and, where feasible, remotely guide or perform solar PV and battery storage installations for residential and commercial clients across South Africa.

The role requires a technical qualification in electrical engineering or solar installation, 3+ years of hands-on experience, strong fault diagnosis, safety awareness, and excellent communication to coordinate with project managers and clients while working

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years installing and maintaining solar PV systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles and safety protocols.
• Experience with battery storage and inverters.
• Ability to read schematics and installation manuals.
• Excellent communication and remote teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and manage the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems, remotely guiding or performing on-site work as needed.

About the Role Our client, a pioneer in sustainable energy solutions, is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Remote Renewable Energy Systems Installer to join their rapidly expanding team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home base anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for coordinating and, where feasible and safe, remotely guiding or performing installations of renewable energy systems, such as solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage solutions, for residential and commercial clients. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills, capable of managing installation projects remotely and providing technical oversight. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems, potentially involving remote guidance or direct on-site work as project needs dictate.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues, often through remote diagnostics and client support.
• Ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and codes.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification or certification in electrical engineering, solar installation, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in installing and maintaining solar PV systems or other renewable energy technologies.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring, and safety protocols relevant to solar installations.
• Familiarity with battery storage systems and inverters.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and installation manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot remotely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interaction.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of local building and electrical codes pertaining to solar installations is advantageous.
