Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Automotive Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) to design, develop, and test real-time software for vehicle control units, infotainment, and ADAS from a home office.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers, write unit tests, and participate in code reviews within a globally distributed, remote-first team, emphasizing safety, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in embedded software development in automotive.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with embedded operating systems (RTOS, Linux).
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with version control (Git) and build systems.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain real-time embedded software for automotive applications using C/C++.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for vehicle control and sensor data processing.
• Write unit tests and perform system-level testing for reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and integration.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and standards.
• Debug complex issues across hardware platforms and environments.
• Document designs, implementations, and test results thoroughly.
