Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Administrator to support security operations and infrastructure with a remote-friendly policy near Soweto, Gauteng. You will manage security tools, monitor threats, and assist in incident response while ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of digital assets.

The role offers flexibility for remote work with occasional collaborative sessions in the Soweto area.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 1–2 years IT support or junior security experience.
• Basic networking, Windows/Linux, and common security threats.
• Familiarity with security tools and concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in cybersecurity.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or with remote work near Soweto, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain security systems including firewalls, antivirus, and IDS.
• Monitor security logs and alerts for incidents.
• Assist in investigation and response to incidents under supervision.
• Perform routine security checks and vulnerability assessments.
• Support the implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Help deliver security awareness training.
• Maintain documentation for security configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT on security-related tasks.
• Assist with user access management and provisioning/deprovisioning.
