Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and experienced Remote Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs for construction projects servicing the Bloemfontein area, entirely from a remote location.

You will oversee cost estimation, budget management, contract negotiation, and financial reporting, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers a fully remote arrangement with flexible hours and competitive incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional registration with SACQSP is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with remote project involvement.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement methods, and tendering procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from concept to completion.
• Manage tendering process: documents, bids evaluation, contract negotiations.
• Monitor and control project costs; identify variations and manage claims.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects and changes.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and final accounts for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
• Monitor and control project costs, identifying variations and managing claims to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects and design changes.
• Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and final accounts for clients and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and promote best practices in cost management and procurement.
