Job summary

Placements24 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, seeks a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and contracts across a range of construction projects. You will lead cost control, value engineering, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on construction economics and standard forms of contract.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts and cost estimating methods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide cost reports.
  • Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and contracts for a range of construction projects in Kimberley . This role is integral to ensuring the financial viability and successful completion of projects by accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, and handling contractual matters. You will play a crucial role in cost control, value engineering, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction economics and contractual frameworks, contributing significantly to the company's project delivery excellence in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide regular cost reports to stakeholders.
  • Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final account settlement.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and advise on cost-effectiveness throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Identify and manage financial risks associated with construction projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry .

  • Strong understanding of contractual agreements and standard forms of contract.
