Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on construction projects in Port Elizabeth. You will handle estimates, tendering, contract administration, and financial reporting to ensure projects stay within budget.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics, SACQSP registration, and at least five years’ experience. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
  • Professional registration with SACQSP or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques.
  • Proficiency in relevant QS software and measurement standards.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects.
  • Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
  • Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.

About the Role

This role requires a strong understanding of construction economics, contract law, and the ability to analyze financial information and market conditions. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining commercial viability and contractual compliance, playing a key role in the financial success of developments.
