Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Production Chemist to contribute to an Oil & Gas team. The role focuses on analyzing production fluids, diagnosing flow assurance issues, and recommending chemical treatments.

You will develop strategies to prevent corrosion, scaling, and hydrates while optimizing chemical usage in a fully remote setting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in production chemistry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with dispersed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production chemistry in Oil & Gas.
• Experience analyzing production fluids and diagnosing related issues.
• Strong understanding of corrosion, scaling, hydrate formation, and emulsion prevention.
• Experience with chemical treatment programs and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency in laboratory analysis techniques for oil and gas production.
• Independent, proactive, and able to work remotely with strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production samples (oil, gas, water) to determine chemical composition and issues.
• Develop and implement chemical injection strategies to mitigate scale, corrosion, and hydrates.
• Monitor production chemicals and optimize application for cost efficiency.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production chemistry problems with timely solutions.
• Collaborate with production engineers, operations, and field staff via virtual channels.
• Stay updated on new chemical technologies applicable to Oil & Gas.
• Maintain records of analyses, treatments, and performance data.
• Contribute to HSE initiatives related to chemical handling and environmental compliance.
