Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement activities from anywhere in South Africa. The role focuses on cost-effective sourcing, supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining strict compliance with company policies.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in purchasing, experience with SAP/Oracle, and strong negotiation and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business/SCM.
• 3–5 years in purchasing or procurement, preferably remote.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle ERP.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services per policies.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders using procurement software.
• Evaluate supplier performance and pursue improvements or alternatives.
• Maintain records of contracts, pricing, and delivery information.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities for risks/opportunities.
• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and best practices.
• Resolve discrepancies in PO, invoices, or deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with policies and ethics throughout procurement.
• Proactively communicate with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure smooth flow.
