Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Procurement Lead to manage a remote, globally distributed procurement function, including a team based in Soweto. You will set strategic direction, drive significant cost savings, and ensure ethical and compliant procurement practices while collaborating with senior management across business units.

The role requires at least 7 years in procurement, with 3+ in leadership, and a Master’s degree in SCM or related field.

Qualifications

7+ years in procurement, including 3+ in leadership roles.
Proven ability in strategic sourcing and cost reductions.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of supply chain management and risk mitigation.
Experience with advanced procurement software/ERP.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
Lead and mentor a remote procurement team with high performance standards.
Oversee supplier management: selection, negotiation, contracts, performance.
Drive cost-saving initiatives and adopt best practices across procurement.
Ensure compliance with policies, ethics and regulations.
Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to define business needs and provide strategic support.
