Placements24 is seeking a Principal Grid Integration Engineer for a fully remote role. The position requires deep expertise in renewable energy grid interconnection, power system studies, and leadership to mentor teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• 10+ years in power systems engineering, with focus on renewable energy grid integration.
• Expertise with power system analysis tools: PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD.
• Strong understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and stability principles.
• Proven experience conducting and reviewing complex grid integration studies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and mentoring of engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and analysis for grid interconnection of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
• Develop and validate advanced grid integration studies (power flow, short circuit, stability, dynamic analyses).
• Create and refine technical requirements and specifications for grid interconnection equipment and control systems.
• Collaborate with grid operators, utilities, and regulators to ensure compliance with interconnection standards and codes.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and their impact on grid stability and integration strategies.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to grid integration and plant performance.
• Develop and maintain simulation models of power systems and renewable energy assets.
