Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Grid Integration Specialist to support renewable energy projects and DERs, ensuring reliable connection to the national grid. The role primarily focuses on Richards Bay area but offers full remote flexibility, enabling you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa.

You will perform interconnection studies, analyze grid impact, and ensure compliance with grid codes and technical requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in power system analysis or grid integration.
Experience with grid interconnection standards and DERs is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

Conduct grid interconnection studies and analyses (power flow, short circuit, transient stability).
Develop technical requirements for grid connection of renewable energy projects and energy storage systems.
Collaborate with grid operators, utilities and project developers to facilitate interconnection.
Analyze grid limitations and propose DER integration solutions.
Ensure designs comply with grid codes and standards.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Provide expert advice on grid integration challenges and best practices.
Assist in development of system studies and modeling tools.
