Job summary

Pavago is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage end-to-end payroll operations for US-based employees in a fully remote capacity. You will ensure accurate, on-time payroll processing, tax compliance, and reconciliations while handling confidential information with professionalism.

The role combines payroll processing, accounting, tax compliance, reconciliations, and reporting. You will contribute to audits, improve workflows, and support HR/payroll integration across systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Hands-on experience using at least one payroll platform such as ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, or BambooHR.
• Working knowledge of U.S. payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience supporting payroll accounting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls for 50–500 employees.
• Validate time entries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions prior to payroll processing.
• Administer payroll using platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, or BambooHR.
• Record payroll journal entries within accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero).
• Reconcile payroll clearing accounts and payroll-related bank transactions.
• Prepare and submit federal, state, and local payroll tax payments; file 941, W-2, 1099 forms.
