Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Support Specialist to join a premier provider of enterprise network solutions. This fully remote position is based anywhere within South Africa and focuses on first-line technical assistance for client networks.

You will monitor networks, diagnose connectivity and security issues, document interactions, and escalate when needed. Strong communication and self-motivation are essential for success in a home-office setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical support or network operations, preferably remote.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and VPN technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Familiarity with popular network devices (Cisco, Juniper, HP).
• Strong diagnostic and communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support via phone, email, and chat for network issues.
• Monitor client network performance using remote tools and address issues proactively.
• Diagnose connectivity, performance, and security problems across network devices.
• Assist with configuration, setup, and maintenance of network equipment.
• Escalate unresolved issues with detailed documentation to senior teams.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Develop and update knowledge base articles and troubleshooting guides.
