Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer for a fully remote position with a prominent telecommunications provider in South Africa. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across the network, monitor threats, and lead incident response to protect critical infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years in security engineering, hands-on experience with SIEM tools,Firewalls, and cloud security principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in network security engineering in large-scale environments.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure (firewalls, IDPS, VPNs, WAFs).
• Monitor for breaches, anomalies, and malicious activity.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Respond to security incidents with post-incident analysis.
• Collaborate with IT to integrate security across the network.
