Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mine Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across operations. The role is remote-based with travel to mine sites as needed, driving a zero-harm safety culture and robust safety systems.

You will develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems, conduct audits, and deliver training across all staff levels while ensuring regulatory compliance in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or Mining Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive mine safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of MHSA and SA safety legislation.
• Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies.
• Proven leadership and strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the Health and Safety Management System across operations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and site inspections to mitigate risks.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for all staff levels.
• Ensure compliance with mining health and safety regulations.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
