Placements24 seeks a Safety Systems Engineer to remotely support large-scale mining operations. You will design, implement, and maintain safety systems and protocols to protect personnel and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will analyze risks, develop mitigations, and integrate safety technologies across sites, while delivering remote training and coordinating with site teams to foster a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in safety engineering in industrial/mining environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and hazard control techniques.
• Experience with incident investigation and safety monitoring technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement safety management systems for mining operations.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits; recommend mitigations.
• Oversee integration and maintenance of safety technologies and emergency equipment.
• Develop and deliver safety training for remote and on-site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, standards and policies.
