Job summary

Samancor Chrome Ltd. seeks a highly experienced Remote Mine Operations Manager to oversee the operational efficiency and safety of multiple mining sites from a remote location.

This strategic role requires leadership, planning, and clear communication to drive productivity, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead dispersed site teams, implement continuous improvement, and leverage technology to maintain oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience in the mining industry.
• Experience with open-pit and/or underground mining operations.
• Strong budgeting, financial management and cost-control skills.
• Proven ability to lead dispersed teams remotely.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic operational plans to meet production targets and financial goals.
• Oversee safety, production, maintenance and environmental performance.
• Manage budgets and control costs across multiple sites.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop site-based teams through virtual leadership.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
