Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Specialist to join their engineering team in a fully remote capacity, supporting projects related to Paarl. You will develop detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, and ensure designs meet standards.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, GD&T, and strong communication in a remote setting; offers competitive salary and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in detailed mechanical design and drafting.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD with GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for complex mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability/assembly assessments.
• Collaborate virtually with project managers and manufacturing engineers to refine designs.
• Support prototyping and testing with design documentation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards and project requirements.
• Maintain design data in a version-controlled system.
