Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Specialist to join a distributed engineering team working entirely remotely. You will focus on detailed mechanical design, component development, and CAD modeling for a range of innovative projects.

You will collaborate with virtual teams, deliver high-quality designs meeting strict technical requirements, and contribute to documentation, BOMs, and design reviews while working independently in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or CAD Specialist.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or CATIA).
• Solid understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to work independently in remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using advanced CAD software.
• Perform tolerance analysis to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and external suppliers to refine designs.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
• Contribute to design reviews and provide feedback to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues during prototyping or production.
