Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Logistics and Distribution Coordinator for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will coordinate end-to-end logistics, manage inventory across distribution points, schedule transportation, and liaise with 3PLs while supporting cost-saving initiatives.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in logistics, strong Excel and logistics software proficiency, excellent organization, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain coordination.
• Experience in inventory management and transportation scheduling.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with logistics software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines remotely.
• Familiarity with the retail distribution sector is an advantage.
• A relevant qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Must have reliable internet access and a suitable home office setup.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the end-to-end logistics process, from order placement to final delivery.
• Manage and monitor inventory levels across various distribution points.
• Schedule and arrange transportation for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Liaise with third-party logistics providers and carriers to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Track shipments and proactively address any delays or issues that may impact delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate logistics and inventory records using company systems.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation and warehousing regulations.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, retail partners, and internal teams regarding distribution status.
• Support the implementation of new logistics technologies and process enhancements.
