Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Operations Manager to lead logistics and distribution operations across South Africa from a remote setting. The role focuses on optimizing warehouse operations, inventory, and transportation while leveraging data to drive performance and cost efficiency.

You will manage dispersed teams, maintain compliance, and collaborate with sales, procurement, and service teams to meet strategic objectives in Randburg and nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, and operations management, with a proven track record of managing remote teams.
• Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven experience in budget management and cost control.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and specialized logistics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient operational strategies for logistics and distribution networks.
• Oversee and optimize all aspects of warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
• Manage transportation and fleet operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Utilize data analytics to monitor KPIs and identify areas for improvement.
• Implement and enforce best practices in supply chain management and operational efficiency.
• Lead and manage remote teams of operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement, and customer service, to align operational goals.
• Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the entire supply chain.
