Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Logistics Analyst to optimize supply chain performance across South Africa, with remote work flexibility. You will model scenarios, assess transport costs, and improve warehouse utilization while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong data-analysis skills, experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, and familiarity with TMS/WMS systems. Eastern Cape logistics experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Supply Chain/Logistics/OR/Economics).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Logistics Analyst or similar role in supply chain management.
• Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and using Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work setting.
• Experience with SA logistics challenges, particularly Eastern Cape, is a plus.
• Familiarity with TMS and WMS functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex logistics data to identify cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Develop and maintain models to simulate supply chain scenarios and evaluate impact.
• Evaluate transportation routes, carrier performance, and freight costs for optimization.
• Assess warehouse network design and operational flows for enhancements.
• Support the implementation of new supply chain technologies and systems.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on logistics performance and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales and external partners to gather data and implement solutions.
• Monitor KPIs related to logistics and supply chain operations.
• Conduct market research on logistics trends, best practices, and new technologies.
• Provide ad-hoc analytical support for various logistics projects.
