Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality in KwaZulu-Natal seeks an experienced General Manager to lead a multi-department lodge operation. The role oversees accommodation, F&B, spa, and activities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences in a remote bush setting.

The ideal candidate has strong financial and leadership skills, with a track record in budgeting, stock control, and cost management, plus experience managing teams and ensuring safety standards. Live-in position with accommodation included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a General Manager or senior manager within a lodge, resort, or hotel environment.
• Proven track record managing multi-department operations (accommodation, F&B, spa, activities).
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, stock control, and cost management.
• Staff management and leadership experience with training and disciplining teams.
• Understanding of maintenance and facilities management in a remote lodge setting.
• Excellent guest relations and problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable living and working in a remote, bush-based environment.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations across accommodation, food and beverage, spa, and guest activities.
• Manage and mentor department heads and staff across the property.
• Control budgets, stock, and operational costs.
• Maintain high standards of guest service and resolve guest queries or complaints.
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of lodge facilities and grounds.
• Manage staffing, rosters, and training across departments.
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are upheld throughout the property.
• Liaise with ownership or management on performance, reporting, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate with reservations and marketing to support occupancy and revenue goals.
