About the Role

Our client, an exclusive luxury lodge offering unparalleled wilderness experiences, is seeking a seasoned and visionary General Manager to lead its operations. This is a remote-first opportunity, where the General Manager will oversee all aspects of the lodge's operations, guest services, staff management, and financial performance, often from a remote location. While requiring frequent travel to the lodge, strategic planning and administrative oversight will be managed remotely, leveraging advanced communication and management tools. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to maintain and elevate the highest standards of service in a unique and remote setting. You will be responsible for ensuring an unforgettable experience for discerning guests and driving the lodge's continued success and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic business plans to enhance guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability.
• Oversee all lodge departments, including accommodation, F&B, activities, guest relations, and maintenance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the on-site lodge team, fostering a culture of excellence and guest-centric service.
• Ensure the delivery of bespoke and memorable experiences for all guests, exceeding expectations.
• Manage departmental budgets, control costs effectively, and maximize revenue across all revenue streams.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in luxury hospitality management, with at least 4 years in a General Manager or Senior Lodge Manager role.
• Proven experience managing operations in remote or unique destination settings is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, profitability, and maintaining exceptional service standards in luxury environments.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision‑making abilities.
• Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in luxury property management systems and remote management tools.
• A degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to the lodge location in Upington, Northern Cape, for extended periods as needed.
