This role is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , and is designed as a fully remote position, allowing legal professionals to contribute from anywhere within South Africa. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment and strategy development to discovery, pleadings, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, identifying key legal precedents and arguments.
• Draft, file, and argue motions, briefs, and other court documents with precision and clarity.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances (where permissible for remote appearances or local counsel coordination).
• Interview clients and witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare expert testimony.
• Provide strategic legal advice and clear communication to clients regarding case status, risks, and potential outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm's remote structure.
• Maintain meticulous case files and ensure compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines, utilizing digital case management systems.
• Stay updated on relevant case law and procedural changes impacting litigation practices, particularly in the South African context.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
• Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 5 years of dedicated litigation experience, with a strong understanding of civil procedure.
• Demonstrated success in handling diverse litigation matters, including commercial, civil, or specialized areas of law.
