About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Commercial Litigation Attorney to join their expanding virtual legal team. You will be responsible for managing all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment and discovery through to trial and appeals, while working from the convenience of your own location. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters from initiation to resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, whether virtually or in person as required.
• Develop and execute effective litigation strategies tailored to client objectives.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and strategic advice on their cases.
• Supervise junior associates and legal support staff involved in litigation matters.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of focused experience in commercial litigation .
• Demonstrated success in handling complex civil litigation, including trial experience.
• Proficiency in electronic discovery tools and remote legal practice technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of South African civil procedure rules and commercial law.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills, capable of working autonomously.
