Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a creative and organized Leisure and Recreation Program Coordinator for a fully remote position, supporting initiatives across Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on planning, development, and execution of diverse recreational programs to improve community well-being and engagement.

The ideal candidate has experience in program design, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and budget management, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in program coordination or recreation planning.
• Proven ability to develop and manage engaging recreational programs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Experience in budget management and resource coordination.
• Qualification in Recreation Management or related field is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or oversight.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement leisure and recreation programs for various age groups.
• Develop content, schedules, and promotional materials.
• Manage program budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
• Liaise with community partners, venues, and providers.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and staff.
• Monitor participation and collect feedback for improvement.
• Ensure safety standards and organizational policies are followed.
• Handle registrations, inquiries, and customer service for programs.
• Evaluate program success and contribute to future planning.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on activities and outcomes.
