Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Recreation Program Leader based in Polokwane to design, develop, and deliver engaging community recreational activities. The role supports blended on-site and remote coordination for program development and administration.

The incumbent will lead staff, manage budgets, and develop innovative Leisure & Sports programming to engage diverse age groups in the Limpopo region.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation program planning and leadership.
• Strong understanding of program development, facilitation, and evaluation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects remotely, with occasional on-site presence in Polokwane.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative recreational programs across Leisure & Sports.
• Lead and supervise program staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Plan and execute program events, workshops, and activities.
• Manage program budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Assess program needs and gather feedback to continuously improve offerings.
• Promote programs to the community and encourage participation.
