Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Social Worker for Family Support to join a distinguished non-profit focused on strengthening families across South Africa, with a remote role centered on the Cape Town area. You will lead a team of social workers and case managers, guiding them to deliver high-quality family support services from a nationwide remote setup.

The role requires an MSW, SACSSP registration, and at least seven years of post-qualification experience including leadership.

Qualifications

• MSW or equivalent with SACSSP registration.
• 7+ years post-qualification experience in social work.
• 3+ years in supervisory/leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of family systems theory, child development, and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to lead remotely and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of social workers and case managers.
• Develop strategies for family intervention and support.
• Oversee case management and ensure documentation standards.
• Conduct complex family assessments and develop service plans.
• Build relationships with community partners and schools.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and family workshops.
• Manage program budgets and resources.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Contribute to policy development and advocacy for family welfare.
• Monitor outcomes and report on team performance.
