Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Smart Contract Developer to architect, develop, and deploy secure contracts for decentralized applications. The role is remote-first with a Cape Town operational hub, and you will guide a distributed team across projects including Ethereum-compatible chains.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software dev with 3+ years in smart contracts, strong Solidity skills, and experience with Truffle, Hardhat, and Ganache.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years of software development, with 3+ years in smart contract development.
Expertise in Solidity and EVM-compatible blockchains.
Experience with testing tools and environments (Truffle/Hardhat/Ganache).
Knowledge of token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) and DeFi protocols.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on Ethereum-compatible networks.
Lead the smart contract development team, providing guidance and mentorship.
Establish and enforce coding standards, security practices, and audit processes.
