Placements24 is seeking a skilled Smart Contract Developer for its remote team serving clients in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga and beyond. You will write, test, and deploy secure contracts on Ethereum, collaborating with auditors and front-end developers to integrate and secure applications.

Requirements include a CS/engineering degree, 2+ years in software, and strong Solidity/EVM knowledge. Remote-friendly role with growth in DeFi and cutting-edge tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of software development, with at least 1 year focused on blockchain and smart contract development.
• Proficiency in Solidity.
• Strong understanding of EVM and blockchain fundamentals.
• Experience with Hardhat, Truffle, Foundry.
• Familiarity with ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155.
• Knowledge of security best practices and common smart contract vulnerabilities.
• Experience with Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts using Solidity.
• Write high-quality, audited, and production-ready smart contract code.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate smart contracts with user interfaces.
• Participate in the design and architecture of new blockchain-based features and products.
• Perform thorough code reviews and security audits of smart contracts.
• Optimize smart contracts for gas efficiency and performance.
• Research and stay updated on best practices, emerging patterns, and security vulnerabilities in smart contract development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to smart contract deployment and execution.
• Work with external auditors to ensure contract security and compliance.
• Contribute to the development of documentation for smart contracts and protocols.
