Placements24 is seeking a Lead Quantitative Analyst for a fully remote role, with base contact in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will design and implement sophisticated models for pricing, risk and trading strategies across financial instruments, while leading a team of analysts and mentoring junior members.

The position requires a PhD or Master's in a quantitative field, 7–10 years in banking/finance, and strong skills in stochastic calculus, time series analysis, econometrics, machine learning,

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, CS or Financial Engineering.
• 7–10 years of quantitative analysis experience in banking/finance with a track record of model development.
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of stochastic calculus, time series, econometrics, ML, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced quantitative models for pricing, risk, and trading strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of quantitative analysts and collaborate with traders, risk managers, and product developers.
• Perform back-testing and validation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Translate business needs into quantitative frameworks and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure documentation is thorough and compliant with internal and external requirements.
