Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Power Systems Engineer to spearhead critical projects from a fully remote setting. You will guide project teams, ensure design integrity, and mentor junior engineers while delivering utility-scale, smart grid, and renewable integration solutions across the region.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) with 10+ years of experience and is proficient in PSS/E, PSCAD, and ETAP.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering.
• Proven track record leading complex electrical infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency with power system simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE grid codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with HVDC, FACTS, or renewable integration is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and analysis of complex power systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
• Develop and oversee power flow, short-circuit, and transient stability studies.
• Design and implement protection schemes for substations and generation facilities.
• Review and approve electrical designs and calculations.
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to meet project requirements.
• Develop proposals, technical specifications, and scope of work documents.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in power systems.
• Contribute to company engineering standards and methodologies.
• Perform remote site assessments and support field engineers during commissioning.
