Placements24 seeks a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to spearhead design, development and testing of advanced power electronic systems from a remote location in South Africa. You will guide a team of engineers, drive innovations in inverters, converters and BMS, and ensure robust performance across products.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in power electronics design and development.
• Proven track record leading complex projects from concept to production.
• Expertise in simulation and design tools for power electronics circuits and control systems.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor devices, converter topologies and control strategies.
• Experience with thermal management and EMC design principles.
• Familiarity with battery technologies and BMS design desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; capable of guiding remote teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and development of high-efficiency, high-power-density power electronic converters.
• Develop and implement advanced control algorithms for power converters and BMS.
• Conduct detailed circuit simulations and analysis using SPICE and PLECS.
• Oversee selection of power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN) and passives.
• Design for EMC and thermal management across products.
• Create and execute test plans for prototypes and production units.
• Mentor and guide a team of power electronics engineers in a remote setting.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware and mechanical teams; stay ahead of tech trends.
