Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead predictive analytics initiatives from a remote SA location. You will guide a team of ML engineers and data scientists, delivering scalable ML pipelines and production models that drive critical business decisions.

The role requires a strong background in Python, ML libraries, statistics, and cloud platforms, with a passion for extracting actionable insights across diverse industries worldwide.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years hands-on ML engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead/senior role.
• Proven track record in building and deploying predictive models (regression, classification, time-series).
• Expertise in Python and core ML libraries (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong grasp of statistical modeling, experimental design, and A/B testing.
• Experience with big data (Spark/Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficiency in MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and remote-work abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and deployment of ML models for predictive analytics.
• Mentor and manage ML engineers and data scientists, driving continuous improvement.
• Design scalable ML pipelines for data processing, feature engineering, training, and evaluation.
• Research and apply state-of-the-art ML algorithms for predictive problems.
• Collaborate with product managers to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure robustness, scalability, and maintainability of deployed ML systems.
• Oversee monitoring and ongoing optimization of production models.
• Champion best practices in ML engineering, MLOps, and code quality.
• Contribute to the company\'s AI strategy and technology roadmap.
