Placements24 is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join a fully remote team and drive data-driven decisions across major research initiatives. You will lead a team of data scientists, mentor juniors, and define the analytical strategy for key projects.

The role requires a master's or PhD in a quantitative field, 8+ years of data science leadership, and extensive experience with Spark/Hadoop and cloud platforms. Strong Python/R and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS, Stats, Math or related quantitative field.
• 8+ years in data science and big data analytics with leadership experience.
• Expertise with Spark, Hadoop and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficient in Python or R and SQL.
• Strong ML, statistical modeling and data mining skills.
• Production ML deployment experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytical models.
• Oversee and guide a team of data scientists and mentor juniors.
• Develop robust data pipelines and perform feature engineering.
• Identify business and research questions suited for data analysis.
• Communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated on latest data science and big data advancements.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to their development.
• Collaborate with engineering and research teams to implement data solutions.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of analyses.
