Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role. You will lead the design of advanced manufacturing machinery, perform complex FEA analyses, and produce detailed CAD models and drawings.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical design, mastery of SolidWorks and/or CATIA, and experience guiding engineering teams. Remote collaboration with global teams, ongoing mentoring, and oversight of prototyping and validation are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) and advanced FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM/DFA.
• Proven track record leading design projects and mentoring teams.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of intricate mechanical systems and sub-assemblies for advanced manufacturing machinery.
• Perform stress, thermal, vibration analyses and FEA simulations.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment to drive integrated product development.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of new products.
• Identify design improvements to enhance performance, reliability and cost.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
