Placements24 is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead grid modernization initiatives in Centurion, Gauteng, with a remote-friendly setup. You will design, implement, and integrate advanced technologies for a resilient power grid, guiding a team of engineers to deliver high-impact energy infrastructure projects.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in power systems, with strong leadership and knowledge of SCADA, AMI, DMS, and protection schemes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience focusing on power systems.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Knowledge of grid modernization technologies (SCADA, AMI, DMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for grid modernization projects.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring design, codes and standards compliance.
• Mentor and supervise a team of engineers and designers.
• Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and protection schemes.
• Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders and regulators to ensure success.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies and risk analyses for grid infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and drive innovative solutions.
• Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering and grid tech.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure quality of equipment/services.
