Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Drilling Engineer to design and execute advanced drilling programs in a fully remote capacity. You will lead well planning, oversee rig operations, and drive efficiency while ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness across global projects.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in drilling, expertise in directional drilling, MPD, well control, and strong leadership for remote teams. A Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering is required, with deep knowledge of HSE standards for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
Minimum 10 years of hands-on drilling engineering experience, with well planning focus.
Proven leadership of drilling projects and rig operations.
Expertise in directional drilling, MPD, and well control.
Proficient with drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed drilling plans, including wellbore trajectories, casing programs, and drilling fluid designs.
Oversee the execution of drilling operations, providing technical support and problem-solving.
Conduct pre-drill risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor drilling performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
Manage drilling equipment, consumables, and service providers.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
Participate in post-drilling reviews and contribute to lessons learned.
Evaluate and recommend new drilling technologies and techniques.
Mentor and guide junior drilling engineers.
