Job summary

WhatJobs Direct is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to spearhead cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies for a groundbreaking project. This fully remote role offers autonomy to work from your preferred location while contributing to a distributed team.

You will design, automate, and scale cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior engineers, driving operational excellence and security in a fast-paced, remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in DevOps, with 3+ in lead roles.
• Proven cloud experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong experience with Docker/Kubernetes and IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible).
• Proficient in CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab CI/CircleCI).
• Experience with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent problem-solving in fast-paced remote environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Implement IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor performance and ensure high availability.
• Establish security best practices across cloud infrastructure.
• Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with development and operations to optimize deployments.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and promote continuous improvement.
