Placements24 is seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to join a remote-first engineering team. You will drive DevOps best practices, automate infrastructure, and ensure reliability and scalability of pipelines. The role focuses on building robust CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and fostering collaboration between development and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong IaC and cloud experience, and a passion for enabling autonomous, high-performance teams in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering.
• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or sysadmin roles.
• Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong cloud proficiency (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• IaC expertise (Terraform/Ansible/Puppet).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Monitoring/logging tools experience.
• Networking and security best practices.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate DevOps Lead to join their remote-first engineering team. This role is crucial for driving the adoption and implementation of DevOps best practices, automating infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software delivery pipelines. You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust CI/CD systems, managing cloud infrastructure, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. This is a fully remote position, offering maximum flexibility and autonomy to impactful individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and availability.
• Automate operational tasks and workflows to reduce manual effort and minimize errors.
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of applications.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related issues promptly.
• Promote a DevOps culture and advocate for best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or System Administration role.
• Proven experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including relevant services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, AKS, EKS, GKE).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
• Solid understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and system administration.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote team environment.
