Placements24 is recruiting a Lead Data Scientist for a fully remote role, guiding predictive mining analytics across global sites. You will design and deploy advanced ML models for resource estimation, maintenance, and production forecasting, while mentoring a team of data scientists.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in data science or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in data science, with leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Python or R and ML libraries.
• Experience with time-series forecasting and cloud deployment of ML models.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models for mining operations using ML and statistics.
• Analyze large, complex datasets from diverse sources (geological surveys, sensor data, logs).
• Develop algorithms for resource estimation and ore grade prediction.
• Build predictive maintenance models to minimize downtime and optimize schedules.
• Forecast production volumes, energy use, and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and ops managers to translate needs into data solutions.
• Mentor a team of data scientists and foster technical excellence.
• Present complex findings clearly to stakeholders.
